Hi, I'm Nancy Peguero and I am an Infant Lead Teacher at Little Blessings Daycare and Preschool. I recently received my Associates in Early Education. In my teaching practice, I believe that children should be taught with both love and respect. Love truly is the base of all learning! Children need to be guided with love and positive discipline. Children are individual learners that learn through independent and whole group play and instruction. In my curriculum units, I provide opportunities for children to learn both ways. As a teacher and a mother of three, I am mindful of children by listening to their hearts, protecting them, guiding them with clear limits, and devoting time to truth and quality of education. Trust in children's abilities, and above all, cherish them.
My name is Betty De La Cruz. I was born in Dominica Republic and speak Spanish and English fluently. I came to the US in 1981 and decided to become a teacher in 1985. My career began as a teachers’ assistant and a few years later I studied to become a Lead Teacher in an Infant and Toddler classroom. In 2003, I had decided to open my own family daycare center in my home with six mixed age children. I successfully ran it for 5 years and then returned back to a center environment. At Little Blessings, I am one of the morning teachers in the Infant room. It is my passion to work with young children and to give them the tools they need to grow and develop into compassionate, caring and creative individuals.
Hi, my name is Rosa Urena de Pena. I am from the Dominican Republic and moved to Boston in 2008. I work at Little Blessings as a Teacher Assistant in the Infant classroom. Previously, I worked in a Family Day Care for almost 5 years. I speak Spanish and I am taking classes to improve my English. I received my Bachelor degree in Business Administration in the Dominican Republic. I am currently enrolled in the Early Childhood Education program of Urban College of Boston and have completed 5 classes. I have a Child Care Provider’s Assistant License from EEC and I am working towards the requirements for their Infant-Toddler Teacher Certification. Working with children is such a rewarding experience. I especially enjoy playing with them and providing support so they can learn while having fun. My goal is to always have the patience, empathy, positive attitude and disposition to allow the children I work with to feel happy, comfortable and open to learn.
Hi, my name is Mercedes. My position at Little Blessings is the PM Lead Infant teacher. I have received my CDA and Dirctor II qualifications from the department of EEC. I am from the Dominican Rebublic and I speak Spanish and English. I love working with children of all ages. One of my beliefs is that it is important to create an environment where the children feel confident and secure to explore and learn in a fun way.
