On one Friday each month, we have a community dinner night. Members of the community can come purchase a hot homemade meal. The dinners are part of a fundraiser to buy a new industrial refrigerator for the Preschool. Our Tamales Fundraiser will continue this month so we may reach our goal of selling 1000 tamales! We will have sign-up sheets available for our families to place to-go orders. The pick-up day for November will be the 6th. As a reminder, the price is $3 for each tamale. The money raised will continue to support our kitchen updates. Invite your friends, family, neighbors and help promote our fundraiser! If you have any questions and would like to join us please call (617) 327-1800 and ask for Jennifer.
Events and Traditions
Our Community Garden
Little Blessings believes in the importance of exploring our world through environmental activities.
Our goal for the Community Garden was to create a space in which children could learn about the process of gardening. The toddlers and preschoolers worked with the teachers in early spring, planting seeds into soft dirt beds and reading stories about the important ingredients fruits, vegetables, and flowers need to grow.
Children in all three classrooms; infants, toddlers, and preschoolers venture to the garden on a daily basis in order to water the plants as well as marvel at the new harvests. We have already had such successful growths in our garden!
The garden space is also open for enrolled families to visit outside of school hours to enjoy at their own leisure.
Pastor Butler's Puppet Show
Pastor Butler visits Little Blessings once a month, during the academic year, to present an educational and interactive puppet show for the children. All classrooms share in this experience and enjoy seeing the puppets!
Parent and Me Arts and Crafts Night
Please join our teachers and administrators for a night of crafts, refreshments, and community building. One night every month we invite our families to join us to arts and crafts. We do a variety of activities from painting to dancing.
